Paris Hilton has shared her heartbreak after her family’s Malibu home was destroyed in the Los Angeles wildfires. She described the devastation in an emotional post, saying it was a moment she never imagined experiencing.
“Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience,” Hilton wrote. The home was filled with memories for Hilton, her husband, Carter Reum, and their two young children, Phoenix and London.
“This home was where we built so many precious memories,” she added. “It’s where Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of creating a lifetime of memories with London.”
The wildfires, driven by strong Santa Ana winds, have caused widespread destruction across Los Angeles County. At least five people have died, and over 100,000 residents have been forced to evacuate. The Pacific Palisades Fire, which destroyed Hilton’s home, has burned over 15,832 acres. Other fires, including the Eaton Fire near Pasadena and the Hurst Fire in Sylmar, have collectively scorched thousands of acres and prompted more evacuations.
Despite her loss, Hilton expressed gratitude for her family’s safety. “While the loss is overwhelming, I’m holding onto gratitude that my family is safe,” she wrote. She also shared her sympathy for others impacted by the fires. “My heart and prayers are going out to every family affected by these fires. To all the people who have lost their homes, their memories, and their beloved pets.”
Hilton acknowledged the pain of those who have suffered even greater losses. “My heart aches for those still in harm’s way or mourning greater losses. To know so many are waking up today without the place they called home is truly heartbreaking.”
Hilton is not alone in her loss. Many celebrities, including James Woods, Cameron Mathison, Spencer Pratt, Heidi Montag, and Diane Warren, have also been displaced. The wildfires have disrupted life in Los Angeles, postponing the Critics’ Choice Awards and canceling several movie premieres.
James Woods described the scene during the Pacific Palisades Fire as “like an inferno.” Despite the devastation, the city has come together to support those affected, with firefighters and first responders working tirelessly to contain the flames.
Hilton concluded her post by thanking the firefighters and first responders. “A heartfelt thank-you to the brave firefighters and first responders risking their lives to protect us,” she wrote. “I am so grateful for your courage, dedication, and the incredible sacrifices you’re making to save lives and fight this unimaginable battle.”
She urged people to remain hopeful and support one another. “Let’s protect one another and hold onto hope that these fires will soon be contained. We’re in this together, LA. Hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight. You never know when everything could change.”
As firefighters continue to battle the flames, Hilton’s story highlights the personal toll of the wildfires. Her words remind us of the strength and resilience needed to rebuild and support one another during such challenging times.
